Women’s Jacquard Sweater With Authentic Irish Craftsmanship in Every Stitch

There’s nothing quite like the intricate, woven patterns jacquard sweaters are known for. They help you add quiet character and texture to an outfit while staying comfortable and versatile. It brings visual depth to any look, empowering you to dress up casual looks with ease.

Every jacquard sweater in our collection is handmade in Ireland, drawing on decades of experience with natural wool and traditional techniques. We use 100% wool (most of the time, Merino wool to be exact) for its warmth, breathability, and natural resilience.

These aren’t printed patterns. They’re knitted directly into the fabric using precise, intentional stitching that reflects our heritage of skill and care. This is how we’re able to create detailed, repeating motifs without compromising on the structure and comfort you expect from all Aran’s Irish wool sweaters.

You can trust your new sweater will hold its shape, resist pilling, and get softer with every wear. We design and craft our garments for real life, and every sweater is backed by a Certificate of Authenticity showing it was made in Ireland to the highest craftsmanship standards.

From our women’s Christmas knit sweaters to our world-renowned Fair Isle sweaters for women, every single one of our Irish sweaters for women brings something special to your wardrobe. Experience the difference genuine craftsmanship makes today!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a jacquard sweater?

This type of knit garment features patterns woven directly into the fabric, rather than applied or embroidered on top. The end result is an intricate, repeating design with texture and depth.

Is jacquard a luxury fabric?

This is a common misconception – Jacquard itself is not a fabric. Rather, it’s a weaving/knitting method. That said, you could definitely make the case for these garments being “luxury” given the skill and time required to produce jacquard designs.

How to wash a jacquard sweater?

Hand-wash in cold water with a wool-safe detergent. Then, gently reshape the sweater while damp and lay it flat to dry. Avoid wringing, machine washing, or tumble drying – otherwise, you could inadvertently distort the pattern and damage the wool.

Why is jacquard so expensive?

Jacquard knitting is a more complex process than plain knits, and so you can expect to pay a premium for our women’s jacquard sweaters. Trust us, though, you get what you pay for!

Is jacquard for winter or summer?

These sweaters are best suited for cooler months. The technique adds thickness and warmth to the garment, so you’ll find yourself relying on this sweater more often in autumn and winter. It will work well for transitional spring weather, too.
